If that's what I think it is, it applied only to members with highly unusual email address domains (the part after the '@').? There was nothing group owners were supposed to do, or even could do, about it.? They could not stop it.? It was up to each individual member to verify that they still exist.? They were not dropped and asked to re-apply; they just needed to verify that they exist.

As far as I know, none of those addresses have yet been purged.
?
The purpose was to weed out inactive email addresses that did not have a human on the other end.? (Some of those "inactive" email addresses were being used by others for inappropriate purposes.)

Could it be that you've simply logged in under the wrong address?

I'd try using the Forgot Password button that will send you a logon link (in case you got the password wrong).

I see no record of you ever being a member of this group before, so it may have been another group where you asked for help.? We're all volunteers, not officially associated with Groups.io, but we'll do our best to give you the information for you to resolve your problem.

Getting Absolutely Nowehre!!!

My name is Janet Bullard and I have been a member of Groups.io since it opened ¨C I belong to a whole load (around 50) of PSP groups and have over the last 18 months been quite ill and then my IncrediMail died.? I have apparently been dropped off Groups.io and have been trying to reinstall my account to no avail.

?

I have sent probably half a dozen cries for help but got no replies at all ¨C I keep trying to insert the (correct) user name and password and that doesn¡¯t work and I am really at the end of my tether.? I just don¡¯t know who to turn to for help as there doesn¡¯t seem to be any available.? You are probably my last chance at getting hold of my friends and the mail.

?

Can someone please tell me what to do to get reinstated?

?

I've done this before with the Group Help and got no-where at all.

?

Janet

Sorry!? I was looking at two groups on my billing.
Disregard.
Thanks.

I just noticed this.? Since you've only got 71 members, you could get by with a free group.? However, if the group was started after August 24, 2020, you'll lose everything except email functions.

Paying annual instead of monthly saves you $20 every year, so I'm not sure why you'd want to change it.
?
If you really do, go to the group and select Admin > Preferences > Billing, select View/Change Plan at the upper right, then select Switch to Monthly Billing under the Premium section.? It will take effect on the next billing date.

How do I change from premium annual payment to monthly?

Patrick Bouldin KM5L

Hi, I only have 71 members - so it would be cheaper to have the monthly minimum of $20 per month. I am paying almost twice that now considering the annual fee plus additional $20 hits.
?
How do I make that change?

Thanks.

There is a new resource page we are using now. The wiki is no more. I kind of forgot to bookmark it but I'm sure somepne can dig it up.

Dear Group_Help,

In section 11.2 of the owner's manual, it says:

"Owners and moderators can edit the Display Name field in individual members¡¯ records (but be aware that members can change their own display names as mentioned above)."

Is there a moderator permission to enable this?

We have a few folks that joined via the "+subscribe" direction that left the "display name" field blank. "Owner" can fix it but I haven't figured out how to enable a "moderator" to fix it.

Actually, it might be nice to have an option somewhere to require a "display name" for all new members at registration.

To contact the group moderators of any group, you can go to the Home page of the group in question and the owner address will be listed there; alternatively, use the same address you use when you post emails to that group but append +owner after the prefix, for example groupname[email protected]. "Set Member Subscription Options" did the trick. Thanks!

You can somewhat enforce that by changing to a Restricted group.? Then you could send a Pending Subscription notice saying what the requirements are.? At minimum, they could include their preferred Display Name in their reply to make it easier to know what to use in their member record.? Then you'd have the option of adding it for them or forcing them to change it before you approve membership.

No, that only allows a moderator to set another member to moderator.? To edit Display Names for members, I think a moderator would need Set Member Subscription Options.

Re: Editing a display name by moderator

I THINK Moderators already? have the right to edit display names, simply by clicking on the name in the Members tab,? then going to the Display Name field and typing. However, for Moderators, there is an option near the bottom of the list of Moderator Permissions called Set Moderator Privileges, which will do what you want.

You can only change the tag color, not the text color.? The text color, which will be black or white, can change based on the background though.

Re: Concerning Hashtags

Yup.? The place to edit the color is on your group's Hashtags page.? Each hashtag has a rectangle with two buttons in it: Edit, and Mute/Notify.? Click the Edit button, then scroll down the page until you reach the Tag Color.
?
I think there is not a way to change all Hashtags at once.
