You can't set up an alias using an address that has a GIO account.

If I understand what you are saying correctly, then you do already have another account for the second address. It just so happens you probably haven't logged in through it yet. You can do anything that this account is configured for, just as you can with the other account.

I had a similar issue, and what I did is to make sure my "address B" was a member of all of the same groups as "address A". Then I signed into Address A and made Address B an owner of all of the groups. When that was all done, I simply deleted my "Address A" account. After it was deleted, I added Address A as an alias to my Address B account.

Dave -- That will work, if you need to have two email addresses. I maintain a second account for several of my groups, just for troubleshooting, so I can see what a regular Subscriber sees.

That said, maintaining multiple email addresses/accounts can be frustrating. It occasionally happens that you find yourself logged in under the "wrong" email address, and thus are unable to gain access to expected content. If you're sure you really want to do this, be on the lookout for that. You will run into it sooner or later.

No. Groups.io does not send emails to alias addresses, because they do not go through the confirmation process.

Thanks Bruce. So if email address A is attached to my actual account. But there's a member slot on the list with email address B (also mine). Couldn't I setup address B on an alias to post, and then the system would send me messages on the same, since it sees that as a member? I'm sure there's a down side to this, but I can't think of it. Obviously I wouldn't be able to do anything via web access, with that B address.

Dave -- If I understand you correctly, the answer is no.

Each email address is its own account. You can set up a secondary email address as an alias for posting purposes only, but all group emails will still be RECEIVED at the primary email address, and only the primary address can be used to log into groups.io.

On one of the lists I transferred, I was already setup as owner here obviously, but it imported me as a 'member' from the other list as well, since I was using a different email address there. Is there any way I can import that profile into my account so I can utilize that different email address for that list, without having to create a separate account? Thanks for any help.
