subscribers on other lists are being moved to sub-groups under my group.

I am owner of a list that has no sub-groups.
I am getting complaints from subscribers that their messages from other groups
are being sent as from a sub-group under my group.
Subscribers cannot create sub groups on my list.

Do I have to delete members getting all their groups.io messages (from unrelated lists)
as from a sub-group from my list, in order to break the linkage?

ken,

I am getting complaints from subscribers that their messages from
other groups are being sent as from a sub-group under my group.
I think someone's confused. Maybe it is me.

Or maybe they don't understand the subdomain addressing format used by subgroups. Or maybe your group and that other group have very similar names?

If you can get them to forward an example to you that may clarify what's going on.

Do I have to delete members getting all their groups.io messages (from
unrelated lists) as from a sub-group from my list, in order to break
the linkage?
Um, what? If your group has no subgroups then I've no idea what you mean "as from a sub-group of my list".

No, no one should be deleting any members. If there's an actual problem we should try to figure it out before deciding on a course of action.

Shal,
? The problem is from a long time list subscriber who was moved with the list from YG to groups.io in Jan 2018.??
He has a gmail address.
My list is RepowerAndRegear,? I did not create subgroups and my access as owner does not show any sub-groups.
This problem caught me off-guard; at this time I can't see now this could be happening.

The list subscriber with the problem also belongs to several other lists not owned or moderated by me.
At this time, every message from any? of the lists he has joined has been sent to him with a from address as a sub-group of RepowerAndRegear.

I am asking him to forward me these messages so I can view the form the e-mail address takes when it is sent by groups.io

At this time it is not crashing the list; it is best considered an annoyance I guess as it is only affecting the one member,
or only one list member is paying close attention.??

We are not a high volume list; 1700 members about ten posts most days.

Thanks for your help, I agree I would prefer to source the problem rather than start blindly deleting.
