reinstating bouncing members
I think Mark fixed that. Duane wrote in Beta: "Did you verify the date on the most recent bounces? ?I haven't seen any that were dated after July 12. ?You may need to send them all a Bounce Probe so they can click on the link in the message."

What is the simplest way to get them back to non-bounce status? The only thing you could do is send them another Bounce Probe. You cannot un-bounce their account for them, they must do that themselves and the Member's Manual gives details on that. Regards Andy |
Frances, Thank you, but . . . . How do I now send "A bounce probe" to a member who is bouncing?? ( I assume that one was sent automatically when the member bounced for the first time.) Lee

Go to the bottom of the page and select the ?Send Bounce Probe button. For multiple members, filter the member list by those in a Bouncing state (as described in the Owner's Manual). Select the checkbox next to the 'Display Name' column header to select them all, then select the Send Bounce Probe option from the Actions button at the bottom of the list. ( I assume that one was sent automatically when the member bounced for the first time.)Correct. Regards Andy |
We are still experiencing this issue as well.? We have repeatedly sent the 157 members (was 200) bounce probes only to find out that the bounce message is going into their junk folder.? As a result we sent out 200 individual messages (11 at a time)? via our gmail account (we couldn't bulk email all 200 due to gmail restrictions).
We don't believe the bounce probes are effective since they are destined for the junk folder and unless the receiver looks there regularly, they never get the message.?? Very frustrating. -- --- CoProS Owner |

It sounds like it would also be worth your time to explain to members how this works so they will know what to expect.? Even a link to the bouncing section of the Members Manual or the FAQ could help. Duane -- Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual. |
My group has never been more than 250 members in its 20-year history, and generally has never had more than three bouncing members at a time, over time. I've sent bounce probes many times over the years, but not often has that brought bounced member back to the group. Because I know the email link might go into a spam folder and be overlooked, I send a personized email with my none Groups.io address to these members telling them are bouncing, figuring if they don't receive and respond to my personal email, then these members have a problem they are going to have to resolve on their own.

Those who contact you to complain are worth your effort and you can do some hand-holding at that time. Conversely, if you lose 150 members who aren't participating anyway, you really haven't lost much. Regards, Bruce Check out the groups.io Help Center?and?groups.io Owners Manual |
Bruce,
A few of the 43 who did get the bounce probe told us it was in their junk folder.? They acted on the email and were un-bounced. If I appear to be obsessing it's only because like Don, this has happened in the past and has only been a few members.? No big deal. The only members involved in this recent bounce probe all have the same domain which to me is concerning since nothing has changed.? The members who have me.com, mac.com or icloud.com continue to be bounced. I take it there's no fix and this will be a permanent thing to work around. Sincerely, -- --- CoProS Owner |

They need to do that otherwise other groups.io messages/notifications will end up there as well.? They may have to monitor their junk folder once a week and keep doign this, hopefully the spam filter will be eventually trained.? Whitelisting groups.io can also help with some mail services. I believe Mark's fix has resolved the majority of the problems, so it's a matter of getting those bouncing members to unbounce themselves.? There was even one member with a gmail address that was bouncing, which is unusual, but turned out to be over quota on their mailbox. Extra work for you, but you need to contact them individually * advise them that THEY need to make your group an approved sender - or wharever it's called.? is an APPLE address & Apple automatically bounces/deletes any emails sent to multiple addresses.? They won't even find them in SPAM or Junk - they never get through at all.? This continues to be a major headache for my group.? Some of my members have resorted to getting gmail addresses because APPLE is difficult to work with to resolve the problem..? ?It's unfortunate because then they're showing as new members when they've been with me for 19 years.?
