Question about original poster and closing a topic

I don't remember if it's here on GIO or some other mailing list or forum but
does the original poster of a new topic have the ability to lock the topic if
they are not a moderator or owner?

Donald -- If they apply a hashtag with a property that automatically locks it immediately, yes.?

They do not have the ability go back to the topic and lock it later.

I should modify that. An existing hashtag can also have a "topic duration" that establishes some period of time after which the topic is locked. So it doesn't have to be "immediate."

But in practice, Members remain unable to create hashtags with these properties. A Mod/Owner has to set it all up.
