I was looking over my groups this morning and found there was a new member from yesterday with a posterid of 1,630,540!? Just 3 days ago, Shal mentioned seeing one just over 700k.? Looks like lots of new users are being added, fairly quickly.? Yes, it's trivia, but thought some might be interested.? If anyone else notices a sizable jump, please update this thread.

Another data point.? In about 12 hours from the time noted on the previous member, the latest posterid that I've seen has jumped by almost 6,000 to 1,636,112 for someone that joined at 6:09 CST/12:09 GMT this morning.? Wow!

Duane,
I was looking over my groups this morning and found there was a newZowie! But the number of listed groups has only increased to 4747. So either some big unlisted groups, or an average group size of 3600 for the new ones. Or some combination more likely. Got a new member on one of my groups about 30 minutes ago - 1,646,921.? I think a lot of the groups already existed, for setup, so the group count (now 4760 shown) isn't climbing quickly, just the member count.

I'm one of those list owners who set up groups but did not move my members over until Yahoo started tanking last month.? I kept holding out for a miracle with YahooGroups but when the features on the website were no longer reliable, I knew it was time to do the transfer. --Paula |
The latest I've found: visible groups - 4927, Poster ID - 1,747,644

Latest: visible groups - 5207, Poster ID - 1,904,761.? Should we start a pool on when it will hit 2,000,000? ;>)

It looks like roughly 10,000 new subscribers per day. Which makes 25 March 2018 the day that the two million mark is reached. jonathon |

Looks like things have slowed down a bit.? Just had a new site user join one of my groups with # 2,403,764.? Visible groups are up to 7054, but I haven't joined any recent groups to use Lena's trick.

Duane,
Been awhile since the last update. New member this morning is number3,099,376 users in 8,787 groups - Impressive. In a few days (9/23) we should help Mark celebrate the fourth anniversary of announcing Groups.io to the public. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
Another update.? 9454 visible groups, member ID 3,338,635 joined yesterday on one of the groups.? I suspect the actual number of groups is around 25,000 or more based on Lena's detective work, /g/GroupManagersForum/message/6220 when the actual groups were about 3 times the visible groups.
Looks like we forgot to celebrate the 4th birthday of the site.? It doesn't seem like it's been that long, but maybe that's because it runs so smoothly. ;>) Duane -- Help: /static/help GMF's Wiki: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Search button at the top of Messages list A few site FAQs: /static/pricing#frequently-asked-questions |
