Hello,
You can do this through Groups.io.? Scroll down the left side under Admin>Settings>Member Notices.Pending Subscription as type.? Type in whatever message you wish to post.? Be sure and click at the end of the page to save the posting and make it active.

When the group I own used to be on Yahoo, we had a requirement that they state why they wanted to join. It helped to a degree to weed out the wrong people. Can this be set up in IO???

Janie,
I just went through this.? I created a free email account to test with, then requested to join my group.? I highly suggest having a test email account to actually see how things work.? As mentioned about use the pending subscription notice.? However that works a bit differently than you might expect.? the sequence went like this, my test member requested to join.? It got an email to verify it was my account, it responded, then my admin account got the new member needs approval notice and around the same time the test ID got the pending notice.? I had to ignore the needs approval notice until the test ID answered with a reason.? Then approve or disapprove the request to join. |
