My Welcome letter available to use as a template
I spent a while creating a Welcome letter for the upcoming
transfer. It's a little long, but covers a few of the contingencies and
questions I'm expecting.
You're welcome to use it as a template and make mods to fix your group. E-mail me offline and I'll send you the Word doc. --Steve mailto:stevebass@... |

It is a member notice. If it is activated, it will be sent automatically when people are transferred or join your group. If you don't customize your welcome letter, a default message will be sent.

Steve,
Please consider adding it to our wiki, here: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Welcome-Message-for-Yahoo-Group-transfer Or send me a copy and with your permission I'll add it. Steve:
I'd love to see this as well, and tried to email you, but when I "copy email address" I only get?stevebass@... which isn't going to work.? Can you add "anonymize" it and have it added to the wiki? |
David,
Shal cleaned it up and put it in the Wiki: On Monday 11/11/2019, [David Riecks] said: ________________________________ Steve: I'd love to see this as well, and tried to email you, but when I "copy email address" I only get stevebass@... which isn't going to work.? Like many here, I'm a bit overwhelmed by boxes to fill in as templates. Which one would Shal's message go in. I like it very much but am afraid of using it as the wrong template and thus being a bit confusing when it appears in context to a new user.. We are down to about 15 groups ahead of us. I've deleted all the test messages and wait with a worm on my tongue. (Old Compuserv saying) Eric Johnson NAIAandNAIATrustMembers

Eric,
The two examples on that wiki page are different examples of the same thing: wording you might consider putting into a Member Notice of type Welcome just before the transfer starts (anytime before stage 4). After the transfer completes you would probably want to change the text to be more appropriate for members joining the group under normal conditions, or just uncheck the Active box on that one, and make a second Welcome notice to be Active during normal times.
Yup, baited (bated) breath. But with so few remaining this reply will likely reach you too late. Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |
