Most group email links don't insert themselves in an email form

Pete Spotts

Hi folks,

Is there a setting to ensure that the e mail links at the bottom of a group home
page insert themselves into a blank email form when clicked? I notice that the
only address that inserts itself is the one needed to post. To sent to any of
the other addresses -- subscribe, unsubscribe, group owner, and help --?it looks
as though a user has to insert the address manually. Is that anti-spam/anti-
troll measure? Or have I overlooked some admin setting?

Thanks for any help you can give.

With best regards,

Pete

Pete,

All of the home page links do insert their email addresses into my default mailto: client (Thunderbird on Win7). I think you may be experiencing a problem with the "+" characters in those email addresses though. The ones you mentioned all have the + separator, which is otherwise ignored in an address and supposedly should be handled correctly by the email client. What mail software are you using?

Sheesh! I should learn to resist trying to send coherent emails late at night...

Anyhow, the subscribe, unsubscribe, group owner and help addresses that you are having a problem with all contain the "+" character. These work fine for me.

Evolution on Linux. I'll check in with their developers to see what the fix
might be. Thanks!
