Members list added variable columns display problem
I've added variables/columns for house number and street name to the members list for the premium group I moderate for my neighborhood.? The new variables/columns appear to the right of "Delivery" and "Applied"? on the screen but show on top of each other and take up multiple lines as shown in the screen capture below: Am I doing something wrong?? Is there a way to fix this or any way to change the display of? other columns to narrow the space allocated for the "Display Name" and "Email Address" columns, which are much wider than necessary, so the new columns could be displayed correctly on the screen?? Thanks for any advice about this. ? Bob |

I strongly suspect that you are also specifying columns widths for these new columns. This is problematic as different devices have different widths. Just leave the width as 0 (the default) and it will look better.? Note if you add a field of type address, you can specify the house number and street name under one column on the member list display.? It will also contain a link to a map, which I'm guessing should be Google Maps as per database address fields but it doesn't work so I'll raise a bug for that.?? Adding extra member data is a new feature and does not seem to be full developed yet so I would not be surprised if there were one or two more gremlins under the covers. Regards Andy |
Andy, Thanks!?? Changing the display width back to the default 0 solved the extra member data display problem.? I retained two separate variables, one for house number and one for street, for sorting purposes and because we don't need city, state, or zip code.? ?? Duane is correct.? I erroneously assumed the column width setting was for characters, not pixels.? It would help if the option could be labeled "Display Width (Pixels)" rather than just "Display Width."? Even better would be to make the value refer to characters, which I think would be more useful to most nontechnical moderators or owners. ?? However, the documentation clearly states that the measurement is in pixels, including a Tip to leave it at 0, so reading that is always a good idea.
