We are a small community group and have two types of members - those that will be joining us shortly but need access to the group (temporary member) and those that meet the requirements to be admitted with full access to our group (full member).?

In BigTent, which we previously used, we could allow the former (temporary members) to have limited access to the group and, I think (I was not moderating the BigTent group), set the membership to expire in a certain amount of days unless upgraded to full member. Can this be done here in Groups.io?

Our community group does not charge any membership fee or anything like that but we have a vetting process to ensure that those who apply for membership (temporary or full) are bonafide.

There are no features that work as you want.? One option would be to create a subgroup for the permanent members where you could store information that temporary members shouldn't have access to.? You could allow everyone to join the main group, but only 'full-access' members in the subgroup.? (Everyone has to be a member of the primary group before they can join a subgroup.)? This could lead to some confusion though, especially on where to post, so probably isn't the best approach.? Another option would be to have separate groups, though that would create an extra step and maybe more work.

I've thought about having an expiration date for one of my groups (a paid membership club), but haven't pursued it.? A suggestion on the beta group (official suggestion box for the site) would be the best place to ask about having this possibility implemented.
