List of group Owners/Admins/Moderators
If you write to the owner address, your message will go to those who get those messages. 'Contact Group Owner' appears on messages. On Wed, Jul 3, 2024 at 7:44?AM Rush Kester via <rwkester=[email protected]> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýGroup addresses from the website
BTW I don¡¯t understand why not all groups list their owners/mods, like we do here Otto

Otto, ? That content is on that group¡¯s home page.? That is content managed by the group owner(s)/moderator(s).? It is not part of the regular home page template. ? Best regards, ? Steve Haas Snoqualmie, WA ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Otto Nikolaus via groups.io

Frances, Thanks for your hint !? This provided the information I was looking for.
?
As it turns out I am one of the owners, but hadn't used the Admin functions as someone else was primary..
?
Until you provided the hint to filter on Moderator, the all members list did flag who were owners/moderators.

Also, sometimes groups get a member who gets mad and tries to disrupt things. If the owners/moderators were listed, that could mean they would have to deal personally with the person. I don't list the owners/moderators in any of the 20+ groups I manage on the group home page. If they need to communicate with us, the group-owner address is the usual way to do so. I have not encountered any groups I am part of that lists these. Oh I can think of some ... for example, if the group is a support group of some kind, especially if for things like mental health/medical or other sensitive issues and topics.? If you have a group with selected individuals - maybe a family group, where you might wish to keep any kind of contact info just within the group and not to non-members?? Maybe a legal group or something of similar?type, don't want angry?past clients to find you.? I mean, each group is different, however I can see certain situations needing to not make that info readily known/available. ~Chelle in OKC On Wed, Jul 3, 2024 at 7:18?AM Otto Nikolaus via <otto.nikolaus=[email protected]> wrote:

"I¡¯m not saying that should enforce, or even suggest it, but why don¡¯t more do it themselves? Otto" in ref. to groups listing the names of mods, owners, etc. I run a large number of genealogy or genealogy society focused groups. My name is irrelevant to 99% of the users, because they care about the topic, not the community surrounding it. Those involved in the community aspect know who run the group and are the most likely volunteer mods.? Your mileage may vary. Valorie she/her. "Dwell on the beauty of life.
