I did a quick search of the messages on this group but didn't see this addressed.

If I add a new member by "Direct Add"ing them, will they receive the Welcome Notice message?? Or only the "Direct Add" notice message, assuming I've created one.

Yes, they'll get the Welcome notice if you have created one.
