Is groups.io really unsuitable for my needs?

It must be years now, since Google among others started deprecating Flash. Gaute I sure do hope GIO isn't depending on Flash! It poses a significant security risk to anyone running it. Flash is in use by less than 5% of websites... down from ~29% in 2011... and still falling because many users have uninstalled it and thus don't have a good experience on sites using it. It has been deprecated by its publisher, Adobe Systems, who plan to "end-of-life" it in 2020. Jim H

Duane All Messages By This Member #11640 Apologies to all.? It was Adblock that was keeping me from seeing the links, as it was with Gaute, not Flash.? (That was over a year ago!)? Since there are no ads on Groups.io, I've disabled Adblock for the site. One of the sites my significant other uses, requires flash, when one uses Microsoft Windows. On either my tablet or desktop, it completely blocks me. I've forgotten which site it is, but my guess would be something a11y related. You can either have security, or you can have accessibility. You can not have both. jonathon

As I was saying, addblocking is a fact of life for webdesigners these days, and this could have been more gracefully handled. I'm not saying it should have been, just that many would have checked this most central of pages, in the most common adblockers. More importantly, this would have been much less of a problem, at least for me, if the compulsory footer was not quite so eager to "nudge" us towards the website. But enough of this.
