All messages copied from one group will need to go to the same group or subgroup. There are no provisions for splitting things.

I would like to copy messages from Yahoo to specific subgroup instead of main group. I want members from Yahoo to be copied as members of main group. Is that possible? Yes. When you set up the transfer select the subgroup as the destination. The members will be added to both the subgroup and the primary group. If you don't include the members in the transfer to the subgroup their content will end? up "orphaned" - attributed to your account rather than theirs.
