Kevin,? #7?"Best practice" advice with screenshots: ?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups |
Once “[email protected]” is a member, go to “manage members” in Yahoo Groups. ?Select the "[email protected]” member by clicking on it and then in the “edit member” pop-up change role from “member” to moderator. ?You have to have permissions in your group to designate moderators.

HOW DO I DO THIS???
Before we can being the transfer, you must make the?[email protected]?user a moderator of your group. If you already have done so, please click the 'Give Go Ahead To Transfer' button again, as Yahoo can be flaky.? Excessive footer trimmed by?moderator. ? |

Kevin,
I am trying to remember this from when I transferred my group over.? If I remember right you have to add [email protected] as a member to your Yahoo group.? After that is done, then you have to make them a moderator.

I figured it out – not your issue.? I am a moderator on the yahoo group I am trying to have transferred. The transfer requires the OWNER to make the groups.io trnafer member a moderator.? The owner has not responded. In the meantime, I am porting over the files I can and will send out invites the manual way. ? [excess quote trimmed by moderator] |

I own a Yahoo group called FlaxSeedOil2. I signed up to have my group transferred today, Oct 29. I paid the annual fee of $220. I then received an email saying my group was approved and I can begin inviting members. But I need to have my members, files etc transferred. I sent an invitation from FlaxSeedOil2 to the transfer address, but I got no reply.
Francis, you're saying to make the transfer email a member but Yahoo doesn't allow an owner to make someone a member of my group. The new person has to sign up on their own.? The instructions I read said the transfer agent would send me an email, but I didn't get an email back and it's been 2 or 3 hours since I sent it. After a couple hours, I sent a 2nd invite. What should I do next? |

开云体育Got it. But in this Yahoo group only the Owner has all those privileges. I can add and remove but not change. Thanks for clarifying. ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Duane ? On Tue, Oct 29, 2019 at 06:56 PM, Kevin Wenker wrote:

Pardon my stupid question. You can add a moderator but not change a account to moderator? That sounds strage to me. Isidro ? Am 30.10.2019 um 02:34 schrieb Kevin Wenker:

Francis, You seem to have misunderstood my problem. I did all the steps Including sending an invitation from the group we own FlaxSeedOil2 to [email protected]?I did that, but I have not received an email saying to promote the transfer agent so my files, members, etc are transferred. Also, I cannot check on where my group is in the queue on the page you linked in your last message to me. My flaxseedoil2 is already set up on Groups.io but nothing has been transferred. I paid the yearly fee of $220 on Oct 29 and got an email saying my group was approved. I invited the transferred agent to join Flaxseedoil2. I am the owner of that group. The problem is that I have received no email saying??the transfer agent has joined my group, flaxseedoil2, and I should promote him to a moderator. ? I also cannot check on the progress of my transfer on the page that is supposed to have a button for checking that.?
You wrote: "So you started the transfer but you are stymied by having to invite the email address?[email protected]?to your Yahoo Group. NO, I'm not "stymied by having to send an invite, I've already done that. The problem is that I have not received any email response from groups.io. ?Why is that? ?Sandra Olson? |
The problem is that I have received no email saying??the transfer agent has joined my group, flaxseedoil2, and I should promote him to a moderator. ? I also cannot check on the progress of my transfer on the page that is supposed to have a button for checking that.? 3.1 Go to your YAHOO GROUP (not your groups.io group) and log in. Send a membership invitation to "[email protected]". If you've never done this before, instructions can be found at ?
3.2 Return to the bookmarked page (/yahootransfer) once again. Select the group you are transferring from the Existing Transfers at bottom right (click on its link). A new page will come up, with a status box at the top. If all is well, it should say: "We've received the invite to your group and will accept it soon. There is no need to send another invite." If it doesn't say that, the invitation did not go through. Go back to Step 3.1 above and try again.?
(My bolding) Source: ?/g/GroupManagersForum/message/22617 Sorry, I don't know why the status isn't showing. Frances ?

开云体育The invite has to be made to the yahoo group, not the new io group. You need to be able to invite new members to the yahoo group and make them moderator. Barbara On 8 Nov 2019, at 05:48, Dennis Steckley <palrefrev@...> wrote:

Dennis,
Sandra--that's where I am, too, with one of my groups. I have sentWhat Barbara said. My additional advice: Stay Calm Don't Panic Just Read The Instructions If you've invited [email protected] before clicking the green "Start Group Transfer Process" button those invitations will be discarded. See the screenshot in Step 1, here: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups In particular, your transfer status page must show the text box "Make sure you have sent an invite..." Then just follow the rest of the steps, carefully and in order, and you're likely to succeed. Skip steps or do them out of order and you're likely to get stuck.
