Group setttings moderator

I am confused.? I created a group. Now I can not see how to modify the group settings.? I have no "admin" tab on left.? When I try to post to the group, I get a message that says that the message has to be approved by the moderator.? I created the group, so I should be the moderator.? If I somehow did not set that when I created the group, I have to have some way to get in there to change it.? There are no other members as yet -- so there is no moderator.? Should I delete the group and try again?? Seems silly.
Can someone help me out? I Paula |

Thank you for your?quick response, Frances. Yes. I am sure I am using the correct email address.? I did test the group with another email address, but even if I log in with my other email address, I do not see an "admin" tab. Sharon, I absolutely am using the same email address.? I am the only one at this computer. I am logged in with this email address.? ?Still no admin tab.? Does the group have be approved? If I can only delete the group if I am signed in as owner,? then this is a problem.? Who the heck is the owner if I am not?? I have 4 members (my adult children) but they were invited to join by me (and they are not even in my house let alone using my computer).??
?
Does anyone have any recommendations?? It seems to me if I can not delete the group, then I have to just unsubscribe myself and ask all my kids to as well.??

Oh that may be the explanation. Maybe I won't see the admin tab until it is approved.? However, it has been 7 days!? How long does it usually take?

Hi Paula, Unfortunately the answer to your question on your grop;s approval is, 'it depends.' Amongst other things it depends upon how many groups are stacked up ahead of yours waiting, like your group , to be approved. So it could happen tomorrow or perhaps next week. But it it doesn't happen in longer than ten days or so you might inquire again. OK ¡ª HTH Paul M. == |

Well at least there is an explanation for what is going on.? Thank you all for your quick responses. It was driving me crazy thinking I was missing something. I feel sanity returning. Another follow up to my other post. In looking at Paul M's response, I think he was assuming that you were referring to waiting for a transfer of a group from Yahoo Groups to complete. That does take some time. --? Gerald On Wed, Aug 29, 2018 at 12:15 AM, Epicatt2 wrote: On Tue, Aug 28, 2018 at 10:25 PM, Paula L wrote: |
Paula,
I created a group. Now I can not see how to modify the group settings. That most likely means that you are no longer logged in, or logged in using a different email address than you were using when you created the group. Another possibility is that you aren't looking at the group you created. It always pays to check for the simple problems early on (the famous "is it plugged in?" question). Look in the upper right corner, in the blue bar: does it show your name, or does it say Log In and Sign Up? If it doesn't show your display name then you are not logged in. What buttons do you see in the left column? If you do not see Subscription then you logged in using an account (email address) which is not subscribed to the group. If you see Subscription but there is no "Owner" or "Mod" badge on the Home button then you are logged in using an account which is a member of the group. Rather than have us guess, can you tell us what you did between the time you created the group and now when you cannot see any Admin pages? Minutes, hours, days? Have you logged out, changed browsers, changed computers? When I try to post to the group, I get a message that says that theBeing the group owner doesn't mean that your messages do not require approval. I created the group, so I should be the moderator. In particular, your role should be "Owner". But only when logged in and only when logged in using the same email address as when the group was created. If I somehow did not set that when I created the group, ...The Owner role is automatically applied to the account that created the group. Should I delete the group and try again? You can't without access to the Admin pages. Does the group have be approved?New groups must be approved before you can post messages, but Gerald is correct: not being approved does not block your access to the Admin pages. 1) I am logged in. 2) I am looking at the group I created. 3) I am definitely subscribed to the group. 4) I see subscription but there is no owner or mod badge (and no admin tab).? You are saying that means I am a member but not owner?or mod.? This is the problem.? I am the one who created the group so I should be the owner.? I can not say what all I did between creating the group and now, but I did:

Paula,
I can not say what /all/ I did between creating the groupThat's a very strong indication that you were logged in to a different account when you created the group. In Groups.io the email address you put into the Log In form is your account ID, and each email address is a different account. From Groups.io's point of view different accounts are different people. You can hover over, or click on, your name in the upper right corner to see the email address (account ID) that you are currently logged in with. One thing you could try is sending an email to your group's +owner address to see which of your email addresses receives it. The fly in that ointment is that maybe none will: each owner/mod has a control in their Subscription page for whether or not to receive +owner messages and I don't know for certain what the default is.
