Embedding the signup form in wordpress.com?

I'd like users to sign up with the embedded form, typing in their email address and hitting subscribe. I've tried to embed the HTML code several different ways, styled and unstyled, but the form will not show up on wordpress.com. I know there's wordpress.org but that is not an option for me at the moment. Has someone made a wordpress.com friendly embed form for groups? Below is their specifications.

If not, is there a way I could use a third party form to sign people up to my group?

Have you tried the tools in Admin, Promote on Groups.io? Several options there.

The promote form is exactly the one I am talking about. The promote form does not seem to work with wordpress.com at all. Did anyone make a wordpress.com friendly version of that promo embed form? If not, is there a way to have an external form system email the subscribe email, and the confirmation goes straight to the user?

The form provided on the Promote page (in the "copy/pasted into your site" box)?is in raw html. If you switch the Wordpress editor to that mode and then paste it in, it might work better.

Just a thought,
Bruce

That HTML code in the promote tab does not work with wordpress.com. There is something in that code that wordpress.com does not allow, because when I paste it in their HTML editor and save, and go to the page, the form does not show up at all. anyone here, who codes, could we discuss about taking that code in the promote tab and making it wordpress.com friendly? I'm willing to pay for this job.

IANAL but that idea might be in contravention of Terms of Service / Intellectual Property Rights / Service Content, Software and Trademarks.

It might be better to check with Mark first.

The code works perfectly on my wordpress.com page.

I tried it both ways on the page below, checking the unstyled, and styled, check box. As you can see on the link below, the code does not render properly, even when copied and pasted on it's own line.

Kathleen,
I tried it today on wordpress.com and couldn't see how to make it work.
I didn't try it on wordpress.org because I didn't want to mess up the active site I maintain.

Can you tell me whether you are using blocks? Or paid for CSS??

Details appreciated!

It's actually the tag. because of potential XSS and other vulnerabilities.

I'm not sure if there's a way to code this without a form, though.
