Emails response from groups.io not working
I must be doing something wrong.? ?When I send an email to [email protected],?it posts fine.? ?When I send an email to the +owner, +help, I get no response.? I checked and am registered as an OWNER.? ?Any help would be appreciated.? Thanks.

Emails to the +owner go to your own email account, not to the group.
Honestly I forget where you can see them on the group. But not in the message archive. Check your email trash, etc. Help email, I am quite sure, just sends you some emailed help info. Again, it is not a post. Frances -- FAQ on Moving from YahooGroups GMF Wiki: (unofficial) Help for members (and would-be members) and group managers |
Hi Frances,
Messages fall under that person's membership if they have sent a message to your owners address. So you will have to go to your members list, find a member and click on +owner messages I hope this helps. Earl,
When I send an email to the +owner, +help, I get no response. IMessages to the +owner address are forwarded to each moderator / owner's email address, subject to a control in their Subscription page. +owner messages, if from a member, are also delivered to the +owner tab of the member's page in the Members list. +owner messages from non-members are not stored on the site. Messages to the +help address are handled by an auto-responder. They are not stored on site or forwarded. Shal, I am still having trouble.
When I send messages to +help, things working fine.? ?Must have made mistake before. The group I am starting right now has all moderators or owners.? ?Once I get this working, I will transfer our yahoo group over.? ?I have two email addresses; the alternate Gmail does transfer to my main email address, which I use on groups.io.? When I send messages to [email protected],?emails don't seem to be transmitted to my main email address.? They are in my alternate email inbox. Is this because groups.io has some functionality that emails I send do not appear in my Gmail box?? Even though I send them to an alternate, which is then forwarded?? ? I think this is the problem, but I want to double-check.? ?Thanks for your help. |
As Shal said,
Messages to the +owner address are forwarded to each moderator / owner's email address, subject to a control in their Subscription page.

Messages to the +help address are handled by an auto-responder. They are not stored on site or forwarded.
Check to make sure that your Subscription page says that you get all notices. Frances

Frances, I assume your response means I should be getting the email when I send to +owners.? Is this what you think?? However, I do not get messages when I send to +owners, as explained in my prior email.? ?Perhaps it is in my settings and you could suggest something to change.? ?I've attached screenshots of three items.

To be clear - this is about?+owner, +help emails only.
+Owner emails arrive in +owner emails on the group site, but not in the owner's own email account. Earl, The first screenshot - your subscription page - looks right.
I just sent you a message to your +owner group address. I also private messaged you a reply through GMF's group posts (like this!) So you should get two messages. One that says testing getting emails to owner. Plus one sent to you privately from here (GMF) - subject: Private: [GMF] Re: Emails response from groups.io not working Frances ?

it is still not appearing in my Gmail accountGmail can be weird.? It somehow recognizes that you're the one that sent the message, so won't put it in your inbox.? If you send it from another email address, it will.? This has been discussed in previous topics, so you might find additional guidance there.
