emails are not going to the groups #question

Certain emails I send to IO groups are being blocked as Spam! Emails with a link and or the use of BCC's are going through any of the groups I belong to nor my own group. I called Comcast and they researched and said the messages are marked "failed security" meaning Io sees them as spam. I have never sent spam so have no idea why this has happened but now i cna barely participate in any group. How do i get IO to lift this spam block??
Please, need help

Tess, can you tell us what you mean by "Emails with a link and or the use of BCC's are going through any of the groups I belong to nor my own group"?
Are you sending to multiple groups at once?
How are you using BCC?
Are the links in "emails with a link" in the body of the email and is there other text as well in the email?

Groups.io doesn't have a spam filter, just a virus scanner, so your problem is elsewhere (unless Comcast has a problem with the headers they use).

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

groups.io has a spam filter for incoming messages from non-members.

Thanks for replying...but I am a member and have been for years plus I own one group. Someone sent me a response that IO doesn't have any kind of spam filter at all!!!

I need to clarify that.? It doesn't use a spam filter for members of a group.? As Lena mentioned, it does attempt to filter non-member messages.

Hello
?
I am an Owner and moderator of my group (NYC Transit Modelers Group).? I recently sent to my group an email? message with a link to a NY Post Newspaper internet-article on a subway murder in NY City.? A few days later I was notified by Groups.io that "I" was removed as a member (and thus owner-moderator) of my group because my message and link was considered "spam" !!!
?
There was a link on the "removal" notice page stating "if this is a mistake, click here within 7 days to 'resume your membership' .." - which I did and I was immediately returned to my original member owner-moderator? status.? I do have a 2nd?owner-moderator on board which I set him up as back when we (thru his work and major assistance) moved our group to Groups.io from Yahoo.? He could have reset me as owner and moderator had I been re-installed a just a regular member only status.? But luckily,? I was returned to my owner-status by the link provided ---.
?
Now, WHY did this happen ??!!? I occasionally send links with my messages all the time (and so do my members) and this never happened before.

That's a different matter. That's about a message you RECEIVED, not one you SENT. You flagged a message from as spam or your email provider did it on your behalf. So stopped sending you emails that you didn't want to receive until you confirmed that it was a mistake.

If you were removed automatically by Groups.io for spam, that's not your co-owner.
It might have been you marking an email as spam or likely your internet provider.
See?/helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-group-messages/responding-to-a-you-have-been-removed

If you think your co-owner did something, look at moderator activity.

We've had a number of people unknowingly mark a message as spam and get the boot
from the group.

How can someone UNintentionally do this?

Some email phone apps (I'm told Yahoo's email app is like this) have the delete
and delete as spam buttons so close together that it's easy to tap on the wrong
button and mark the massage as spam when the user really intended to just delete
the message because it's been read.

As Frances mentioned, an ISP may have a spam folder they routed the message to,
and after a set period of time, they delete the message. That counts as deleting
the message as spam.

Also, some ISPs have a spam folder that the user may not even see or know about
(like Roadrunner email) unless they use the web interface for email. I found
this out after some expected emails never made it to my inbox. Tech support for
Roadrunner email let me know about this unseen folder and my options. I chose to
have all suspected spam forwarded to my inbox but append [SPAM] to the subject
line so I know it MAY be spam (it rarely is and they rarely flag anything as
spam now).

Is the message you sent in the group archive? If so, note that it is possible for a message to be sent without trouble and then your own ISP auto mark it as spam when it comes back to you.

Hello Frances

Thanks for the reply --- but (a) I use a COMPUTER and its keyboard to create my messages --- NOT a cell phone, tablet, etc.? (b)? My co-owner was not in any way involved in "removing" me - and I never stated that nor implied that.? What I did say that IF I had to rejoin as a regular member,? my co-moderator-owner would be able to make me an owner and moderator again using his tools to do so.

Regards - JoeF

Joseph -- I suspect this is not the same problem that Tess is having.

You were removed because you (or your provider) marked a legitimate group message as spam. Your provider then sends groups.io a notice that you don't want to receive any more messages "like this." On this basis you were removed.

More information at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/5115?and at???

This may seem extreme, but in my own experience it's not at all uncommon for someone to purposely mark a message as spam instead of trying to figure out how to unsubscribe.

Again...and this is very important...no one has accused you of spamming your own group. In fact, if you had, you would not have been removed. As was previously explained to Tess, groups.io does not apply spam filters to incoming messages sent by fully vetted group members. It is up to the group owners/moderators to decide what is appropriate email traffic for their group, and deal with noncompliant members accordingly.

Bruce
