Deleting part of the archive?

When I moved my very large Freecycle group from Yahoo, I only transferred the most recent couple of years.? I would like to trim the size of the archives here on Groups.io, to contain only the last couple of years.? Messages are ephemeral on Freecycle, so postings from 2017 are pretty irrelevant.? I am assuming that the only way to shrink the size of my archive is one message at a time?? I think there are about 38,000 messages in the archive at the moment.

For messages, yes.? For topics, no.? See /g/GroupManagersForum/message/30882 and /g/GroupManagersForum/message/28383

An option to automatically delete messages and calendar entries after a certain period of time might be useful in keeping space under control.

You can tweak hashtags so that messages with that hashtag expire after a period of time. Topic duration - When set, tagged topics will automatically be deleted or locked after the specified time period.

But the message archive doesn't count towards storage limits. Attachments do.

Since they don't count against storage space, unless they contain images, there's really no need to do so.
