Can we have members to use a specific format for posts? #events #howto

My people post a lot of events. Their formatting is all over the place and drives me crazy.? Some use three colors for their fonts, some forget to put in the date, many fail to put in their full name.? Can anyone visualize a way to do this so that it is easier for me to read as moderator and there is at least a modicum of consistency in the posts? I don't want to go the route of Google forms because that requires too many steps and would not show up in pending posts.? We do not want to post their information on the group calendar because the group should not be seen as a sponsor. ? TIA. Emily

Are you talking about adding things to the group calendar? Or are they just sending an email announcing something?

If you check the "Normalize HTML Emails" box in group settings, it will strip out most such nonsense. ?/newhelpcenter/manual/ownersmanual/groupsettings/settings_msg_formatting.htm?
?
[We have this turned on here in GMF, for much the same reason.]

I don't think we can help you with that. The only thing you can do is moderate the group and reject any posts with missing information.
?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

The first thing you should do is create a Guideline/Rule of the format to be used, possibly including an example.? That will give you something to enforce.

You could also select the option at Admin > Preferences > Settings - Message Formatting to Normalize HTML Emails.? As noted, that removes all the fonts and colors.
