Does anyone have any idea why I’d be bouncing ever couple of weeks?

Probably just a glitch with your email provider.? There should be a bit of information on your Recent Bounces page/panel in the Reason area as to why it bounced.

Thank you Bruce.? Here is what I found:

mintel.net.mx1.mintel.rcimx.net: 554 Failed: Malformed MIME field: X-Google-Original-Date: Sat, 9 May 2020 11:35:03 +0200 ( [0xE4] ...

Every single bounce is the same thing.? Can someone explain to me what this means.? I assume it has something to do with my ISP but beyond that, I haven’t any idea.?

Thanks,

Judy

I can't be sure, but given that date is almost exactly a month ago, I'm guessing that one of your subscribers has their system clock set wrong.?

If you can find the same message in your message archive, click open the More menu and select View Source. Paste the resulting raw message into the analyzer found at??and tell us what it says.

Every single bounce is the same thing.?

Is that the entire reason given, or is there something beyond the ellipsis?
Were all these bounced messages sent by the same person??

?Can someone explain to me what this means.? I assume it has something to do with my ISP but beyond that, I haven’t any idea.?
It does have to do with your ISP, inasmuch as most providers won't bounce a message over a slightly malformed header. In addition to contacting the person sending these messages, you might consider forwarding this information with support (at) mintel.net and ask them what can be done about it.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Judy,

mintel.net.mx1.mintel.rcimx.net: 554 Failed: Malformed MIME field:
X-Google-Original-Date: Sat, 9 May 2020 11:35:03 +0200 ( [0xE4] ...

Every single bounce is the same thing. Can someone explain to me what
this means. I assume it has something to do with my ISP but beyond
that, I haven’t any idea.
That's certainly one of the less clear bounce reasons I've seen. Apparently your email service believes that one of the header fields in a message posted to your group is malformed. Possibly the Date field.

You might be able to correlate the date/time of the bounce record with a message post in your group's Messages pages to determine which member sent the post, and whether other instances are from the same member. Usually bounces aren't related to particular posters, but in this case it is possible.

The header field being reported ("X-Google-Original-Date") is not a standard email header (the "X" in front marks it as specific to a given email service). What I'm unsure of is whether your email service picked up the message's original date and copied it to that field, or maybe the posting member's service did it.

About the only thing I can think of to suggest is to contact your email service provider's technical support and ask them to explain that bounce message. But this one is obscure enough that it may take some persistence to get to someone who can explain it.

Another thing to try is look at the bounce history for other members of your group, some who use the same service as you, if any, and some who use different services to see if other members have the same bounce history with the same message posts.

I've circled some of the message numbers for you.

If you look up these message numbers you should be able to figure out if the bounces were all posted by the same person.

I don't understand what Yahoo has to do with any of this.

groups.io doesn’t number its messages.?
Individual messages display the message number in the footer, as part of the View/Reply Online link.

Viewing the message in the online message archive, you will find the same message number at upper right.

Judy,

Since yahoo was taken over, I can’t find the messages of the one group
I belong to there.
If you are referring to the October 2019 changes to Yahoo Groups, no, you can't. Messages are no longer stored at Yahoo Groups, you only see them if you receive them by email.

For more info see the section on the 2019 changes, here:
