Approvals of NEW members

Hi,

? Is it possible to automatically approve new members to a group -?

? 1) without any email/action required for membership approval
? 2) but WITH the "first two messages are moderated" still in force.

? This is for a 'normal' (public) group - not a 'private' (by invitation only) group.

? YES, I looked for how to set up my Moderator level membership to do the above
and I was not able to do so.? I couldn't even find the settings for those.? I suspect
it is an Owner Only setting ... ???

If the only box checked in the Spam Control area of the Settings page is New User Moderated (and set for 2), then anyone that applies to the group becomes a member immediately, but the first 2 posts will be moderated.? You may not have the permissions needed to see or change it.

Hi again,

? I solved my personal issue/question - all (?) I had to do was to scroll further down
the Subscription page - it was there all the time.

? I am not the owner of this group so I don't know whether or not the group can be
set up to automatically approve new members - BUT leave the "first 2 messages
require approval (are moderated)" status.??
? I've left that for the group owner to sort out.

Yes, but there has to be some email interaction either:
A) Prospective member sends an email to: <groupname>[email protected]
or
B) If they join via the web:
Clicking on ¡°+Join This Group¡± at groups.io/g/<groupname>,
Entering their email address,
And clicking on ¡°Confirm Email Address¡±;
The prospective member will have to reply to a ¡°Confirm Email Address¡± email.

2) but WITH the "first two messages are moderated" still in force.
Yes, go to your group (and if you have the appropriate Owner/Moderator permissions)
Admin: Settings: Spam Control:
