Anything like yahoo links functionality? #howto #messages #links #featurerequest

The 'old' Yahoo groups had a links section where one could keep interesting links to external sites, or also preserve links to particular messages.

Is there some way to do this functionality with the groups.io?

Dave -- Yes. If you do an Easy Group Transfer from Yahoo Groups, the links section of your old group is preserved here as a Database table. However, some people prefer to put this kind of info in their wiki instead. Or you could put that info in a message and pin it to the top of your Messages display, or on your home page.

Generally, you can put it anywhere in GIO that supports hyperlinks.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Thanks.

What is this 'Easy Group Transfer'? The link at the start of the thread 'Yahoo has now created a downloader' isnt't called that.

Dave -- For details on this, just click the link, found at the very bottom of every page here in groups.io (may not be visible on your mobile device).

It is in the ¡°More¡± menu (at the bottom) on a mobile devise.
