All messages by a member

Is there a simple way to pull up all the messages by a member? It seems like it should be simple, but search won't search on the sender address.

Yes.

1) Find one of their messages, then select "All Posts by This Member" from the More hamburger menu.
2) If you click on their name at the top of the message, it will open their profile. The profile contains the same link.
3) You can also access their profile via the Directory, or using the "View Profile" link at the top of their record in the Members List.
?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

Aha! And that's where the Catch-22 begins! You can't find their messages until you've already *found* one of their messages, If it's a member who hasn't posted in a while, you're stuck. I think I'll take this to beta. Why couldn't we have that same option when we select a member in the member search? Or alternately, have the option under message search to search for sender, probably including email address?

Dano,

As you've learned in beta, there is no catch-22.

For the benefit of GMF members who don't follow beta:

As a member you might wish that the Directory had a search function, but as a group owner/mod you can open their subscription page from the Members list.

At that point you have two easy options.

One is to click on their User Name and then click on "All Posts By This Member" in their profile page.

The other is to click on their "Activity History" tab; that lists their postings and other activity, the entries for each post link to the post.

yes. In the Messages view, just do a search using the name (presuming they use their real name in a signature, etc.) or search. on the username. ?Typically you might have to page down to see a msg originally posted by that member (or it might pop up as the first one). ?Then (as described by others) click on the member name and then?show all posts.?

The real lack ¡ª is a search function for members (who would EVER want to do that? Paging through hundreds or thousands? of names is so much more rewarding.)

Poster has no Display Name and doesn't mention a name in his post. All I have is an email address. That's not much to search on in Message search.

Mark's looking at it on beta.

I just searched on my email address (not username) and I get any/all hits on messages that I could ever care to see (500+++ hits)

BUT, that's from when I replied via email, and my "to" address was pasted into copied?original message.? If the user may have done that it might show up.
