who's not in a subgroup?
Hello,
I was wondering if there was an easy way to see which of my members is NOT part of a subgroup OR is there a way I can download everyone's subgroup affiliations? I use my group for our school's communications. We have over 900 members. ALL but staff need to be affiliated with a classroom subgroup. If an email is not affiliated with a classroom the parent has either left the school or their email is not on file with the office and I need to flag or delete them. At the moment, I'm going a bit blind scrolling back and forth line by line in the admin>subgroup listings. thanks for your help, BB |

Click on Members. It shows the names and there is a checkbox list of members of subgroups. Never knew that was there! Thanks for asking. is there a way I can download everyone's subgroup affiliations? If you're good with spreadsheet or database apps, you can export the member list from the main group and subgroups, import them, and link & work them as you see fit. Cheers, Christos |
hello, thanks for the suggestion. ?I downloaded the main membership list and it does not include the subgroup affiliations. To clarify, are you saying run a script to cross-check the two spreadsheets?
Ideally, a membership list would include all the subgroups the main group's members are part of. I'm gonna suggest this to the beat group? |

That¡¯s already a feature, at least in my Legacy main group: Under ¡°Admin¡±, click on ¡°Subgroups¡± and you¡¯ll see the members¡¯ list with a column for subgroup. It will be checked for subgroup members.-- ____________ Jeannette B. |

You can then specify to give you all the records which exist in both the main and subgroup and have the same user_id. Cheers, Christos |

While Admin > Subgroups does show who is/is not a member of subgroups, it does not provide a download facility, which I think desirable. But perhaps the information should be included in the main members list download. Jeremy |

Further, I see that that Admin > Subgroups does not provide any sort facility beyond 'name': neither by e-mail address, nor subgroup membership. Both I would suggest highly desirable, especially for larger groups. Jeremy ? |

I suggest downloading the member lists of the main group and all subgroups and merging them into one big CSV file. Open that in Excel and use the "Remove Duplicates" feature on the user_id field as suggested by Christos. Those rows that remain will be the people in the main group only. ? Hope this helps,?
