#Changing Group Photo
#changing
Hi. I recently set up an i.o. group with the aim of transferring my YahooGroup (although due to the storage limitations I'm not sure this will be feasible). When I created the new i.o. group it had a default banner photo across the top of the page. When I changed the photo to one of my own it appeared as a regular photo rather than as a banner. In my YahooGroup if you change the banner photo the new photo is displayed as a banner too. How do you get your photo to appear as a banner in the i.o. group?
Thanks - deborah Evanston Peregrine Falcon Watch /g/EvanstonPFWatch |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýWhen I made a monthly cover photo on our old Y site, I made the banner/photo fit the are that was approximately 250 x 820 pixels in size. I never tried putting up a regular un-cropped or un-resized, ?picture, because I didn¡¯t think it would work right. In Groups.io, I make my cover/banner 300 x 900 pixels. ? Don ? deborah,
When I changed the photo to one of my own it appeared as a regularDid Don's answer resolve your question? I'm assuming that the photo appeared in the correct place at the top of your group's home page, but was shaped as the photo you uploaded, not spread across the page. In my YahooGroup if you change the banner photo the new photo isYahoo Groups will scale your photo horizontally to match the banner width, then crop it vertically if necessary to match the banner height, and allow you to position it vertically to select the portion you wish to show. How do you get your photo to appear as a banner in the i.o. group?Groups.io won't crop your image. Rather it scales it to fit in both directions. So to get a banner-shaped result you'd have to upload a banner-shaped image. That's what Don meant by giving examples of the image sizes he uploaded. GMF's home page photo came from my camera as a more nearly square image, at high resolution. I used either PhotoShop Elements or LightRoom (I don't recall at the moment) to scale it to screen resolution and crop it to banner shape. Shal |
