member cannot log in

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

I have a member of our group who also has moderator privileges.?

He indicates that recently he can no longer log-in to Groups.io online.?

He still receives and can send group emails directly, but if he tries to log in, he receives this message:? "That email address does not have a account.?¡° ? ? ??

I checked his account and its active and everything looks ok from there.? What can I tell him?

Thank you,?

Peter (owner of the group in question)

In the past, sometimes people have found that there has been a small hidden character (space) that is in the email address and prevented logging in.
And I am assuming that you are both talking about the exactly same email address.

Odd that he can't log in since he receives mail from the group. Has he tried to use the footer in a group email to log in?

Has he set a password for the group or is he trying to use Email Me a Link to log in?

Has he set two-factor authentication?

Have him open a group message in his mail client and look at the message footer:

The address adjacent to the unsubscribe link should show what he needs to use to log in.

Thank you Francis and Bruce for your replies.? Sorry for not responding earlier but it took a while to get this resolved.
I shared your suggestions with the member but he indicated that these did not work for him.

We mutually agreed to try removing and then re-adding him.? At first he indicated that even that didn't help, but then he wrote:
"Not really sure what fixed it but things started working all of a sudden this morning after I followed request to request a login code."
So I'm not sure what made things right, but he can now log-in again.

Peter

You may want to remind your member that logging ?in through requesting a link is a standard way of getting to your group homepage. Clicking on the emailed link logs you in for 30 days on that device and that browser. It relies on cookies and auto-renews for 30 days when you visit the site. See?the help page:

A passing possible explanation: I've had similar problems, not with groups.io, when I managed to enter invisible non-printing characters into an address that was subsequently stored in my browser cache. Drove me crazy until I happened to view the address in hex mode in Emacs. Served me right for trying to get fancy with a script. Now, one of my first suggestions whenever something is acting strange in a browser is to clear the cache and re-enter.
Best, Marv
