Billing notificaiton

Paul Gohdes

We have automatic billing.? We added a second "owner" to assure continuity in our group.? How can we get the new "owner" to be notified of the upcoming bill as well as the original one?

Paul -- As best I can tell, you can't.

Each group can have only one payor, and only that payor will normally be notified. The only way others will be notified is if the payor's account is deleted.

Possibly the paying owner could set up forwarding only the reminder email to the alternate owner if one arrives by quoting specific exact text in that reminder.
But then the alernate owner is not set up to pay groups.io which may be another issue.

It shouldn't be.? Changing the payor is pretty easy.? It can be done at any time, but most groups want to have one person responsible.? Of course, using Sponsorship removes the need for someone to pay.

BTW, Mark has already to the policy to minimize the problem.

I second Duane's suggestion as this also makes it to where technically you don't have to have a designated payor (per se) with a credit card saved in the system and who has to make the payment.? That's what I've done, enabled Sponsorship, then transferred all the paypal funds from the operating account we originally had setup (and which I had to maintain) in there, and removed the stored credit card from my account.? Any group member can put in there as much as they want, and now with the change Mark made, others will also be notified so there is no danger of the group getting downgraded, unless of course if no one puts in enough to cover the yearly fees.

You can use a debit/credit card or paypal to add to the sponsorship fund, and you don't have anymore to have that debit/credit card stored so if you're not already using it, I'd suggest to enable it and use it.

Cheers,
Christos

This doesn't sound correct. When my friend and I started our group of our own, he had upgraded to premium, and paid the $20 or the $10 a month, and I was notified when his card expired. He did not delete his account or anything of that nature so unless this is changed, you will be notified if the original parish card expires.
