Admin Activity

Green Gate Grove

I now have over 1500 pages of Admin, Activity. Is there a way to offload or Archive these pages and then reset it back to page 1.
Are these pages taking up storage?

These are the only things that take storage:

The following are counted towards the storage limits for your group:

  • Files
  • Photos
  • Images in databases
  • Images in wiki pages
  • Message attachments

Messages themselves are not counted towards the storage limits, only any attachments.

No, the space used for the logs is part of a shared pool space that Groups.io allocates and uses for all group activity logs so it doesn't count towards group storage; think of it as business "overhead" cost.? Plus the log info is not generated by the group members themselves directly, unlike for example photos or files.? Also, the amount of storage needed for the log entries (and for messages themselves for that matter, their text part only that is) is small considering because only text is stored, that's the reason messages do not count towards group storage.

Is it feasible to have an owner option that all ¡°attachments¡± case to exist after a certain period automatically disappear (use no storage)¡± ?It would put the onus on group owners to otherwise organize and archive those of lasting value, bu ?that¡¯s certainly no more of an administrative burden than monitoring applicants or subscribers, and it¡¯s something easily delegated.

Sure, select "Delete Old Attachments" in the "Storage Limit Reached" control, at the bottom of the Message Policies panel of your group's Settings page.
/helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/customizing-group-settings/message-policy-settings

This deletion isn't after a specific time, but operates periodically each time your group's storage approaches exhaustion.

It would put the onus on group owners to otherwise organize and
archive those of lasting value, ...
That's one of the unfortunate omissions in this mechanism. Generally there is no easy (one click, or few clicks) way to mark or move attachments which are valuable so that they are excluded from automatic deletion.

Instead you must download them and upload them to somewhere else. And if you're managing a newer (non-legacy enabled) Basic group that somewhere else will need to be cloud storage outside of the group, or re-posted attached to a new message.
