Invites not working

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI¡¯m trying to add members to a new basic group. Initially I added about 10 email addresses and that worked. Now the only way I can add is to have the member send an email to <groupname>[email protected]. I only have about 24 members at present? ? What am I doing wrong? ? Thanks ? Cal Rich |

Not asking about marketing¡ Just trying to replace our old Yahoo Groups list. We will only have maybe 80 mails to deal with and not a lot of traffic. I am inviting from my groups.io log in, and my first attempt with about 10 names worked fine. I¡¯ve been able to add a few more. Not sure why that process works sometimes and not others. I do notice that when it works I get almost an immediate response that the entries have been received/processed. I have been able to add more by sending an email asking that they send an email to:<groupname>[email protected] . That works, but is difficult. My group are all seniors and some have a hard time with email in general. I have considered upgrading to Premium , but I¡¯m not sure if that will work. I¡¯d give that a try if I could downgrade after getting the group setup as I don¡¯t think that we really need the enhanced features. ? Thanks for your help. ? Cal ? |

Follow up on this though. It is possible you have some Yahoo members who no longer use that email address. Frances ? -- GMF wiki for help.?Search box at the top of each page. Cal,
You can send each prospective user an "invite" via email. All the user has to do is Reply to the invite to be subscribed. That's easier than instructing him in how to start the process. Go to Admin-->Invite. There's a spot to create a standard message and another spot to override the standard message when special circumstances arise. You can enter email addresses in short form (joe@...) or long form (Joe Smith <joe@...>). Larry |

Cal,
I am inviting from my groups.io log in, and my first attempt withCan you explain more clearly what you try to do, and what you see, when the process does not work? So far our guesses have been all over the map because we're working with almost no information. I do notice that when it works I get almost an immediate response thatAnd when it doesn't... What do you notice? One possibility is that sometimes your attempt to invite is being held pending approval by Groups.io. This happens whenever you've invited more than 20 addresses in the past 24 hours. /helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/inviting-people-to-join-a-group/inviting-more-than-20-people-at-a If that's the case you should know it from a banner that is put on the Invite page when you click "Send Invitations". In this casethose invitations "haven't worked yet". They'll be released as soon as approved. Note the general advice is to Invite your entire list at once, so as to incur this delay only once. That's after inviting a few addresses of your own as tests to iron out your Invite message and gain familiarity with the process. I have considered upgrading to Premium , but I¡¯m not sure if that willYou can choose the Premium for one month plan, which downgrades automatically at the end of the month. It is designed for this exact situation (using Direct Add to bring in an initial list of members when forming a group). Note: Direct Add is also subject to the approval requirement. So in that sense it won't work any faster. My group are all seniors and some have a hard time with email inThat's a good use case for Direct Add over Invite. I do the Premium for one month in my PTA group to bring in new parents each year at registration - it is far easier for me than herding them all through the Invite, Request Membership, or +subscribe processes.
