For most Wiki pages for the DeepSkyStacker group, when I edit the page I'm offered a formatting bar allowing me to control the content of the page.

For this one /g/DeepSkyStacker/wiki/22443 the format bar is blank and I can only enter plain text.

Please could someone help get this sorted out?

The editing bar will only contain the options for the mode used to create the page.? If the person that created it was using plain text that becomes the editing mode.? You'd need to recreate it in HTML for those options to become available.

The editor that will open when creating a new wiki page depends on your preference in your account settings.

/account?page=prefs?select HTML in Editor Preference.
To get to the linked page click on your name in the top right-hand corner, select account.?
Select Preferences from the left-hand sidebar menu

BTW - I searched the?/helpcenter/ownersmanual?for the term HTML and the only results concerned email preferences. I couldn't find any documentation on setting up My Account.

If I remember correctly (iffy these days), these settings are done the 1st time a new subscriber touches groups.io when they have absolutely no idea what they're getting into, I know I didn't.

After tinkering around a while and they start figuring out what a great platform this is, those settings can become a distant memory.

It's in the Members manual since it applies to everyone, not just owners, /helpcenter/membersmanual/1/understanding-groups-io-accounts/setting-account-preferences-and-viewing-account-information?single=true

I know that at one time there was a drop down box to choose the format for messages, possibly also wiki pages.? I suspect it was changed to the way it is now because it would be unusual for someone to not use the same for everything (as in your case.)? I used to use plain text for messages until I realized it doesn't really make any difference on most groups.? If the group is 'plain text only', you can only compose a plain text message online and any emailed in will be converted.? Now I've got my account preference set to HTML and all groups work as they should.
