I have banned a member and they continue to rejoin using the same e-mail address?? Shouldn't a banned member not be allowed to join the group again using the banned e-mail address?

Go to Admin>Members, pull down the blue menu at upper left, and select Banned (screenshot below).



The email address in question should be displayed on the resulting page. If it's not, you may have unsubscribed it, but you didn't ban it.

Please also note that banning one email address won't keep the same person from attempting to subscribe using another one.

I know how to ban a member. I have banned her from the group but she continues to be able to rejoin the group using the same email address. I understand that she will be able to join by using a different email address but she is joining the group again using the same email address that I have banned. If I go to activity using her email address is shows she was banned yesterday and subscribed via web today. What is the point of banning someone if it allows them to continue too rejoin or is this something I should notify mark about?

How did you ban her?? I ask because there was a problem awhile back where one method worked and the other didn't.? I don't remember the details at the moment though.? Either way it needs to be brought to Mark's attention.? Via support if it's a premium group or as a #bug on the beta group.? The more details you can furnish to Mark, the quicker he can track it down.

We recently had a member who we had banned who was still managing to post messages to our group.

That member was also member of a Google Group and when he posted to the Google Group –the same topics which he'd gotten banned for posting on our Groups.io group as being unacceptable topics– he CCed our Groups.io group and his posts got posted on our group.

We couldn't figure out a way to block this but he finally stopped CCing our Groups.io group.

Not sure whether this is a bug or whether there's a workaround to stop it.
