Subgroup permissions #subgroups

Brady Turner

For my club's GIO site, I have created some subgroups for various committees.? I'd like for members of the club (parent group) to be able to see the files, photos, etc., of the subgroup that they are not a member of; however, it appears that they can only see the messages of the subgroup:

I have the visibility of the subgroup set to "Group listed in parent group, publicly viewable messages" and files permissions set to "Subscribers can view and upload".? Of course if the parent group member joins the subgroup, then they can see files, etc.

Is there no way to make the files, etc., visible to parent group members without them joining the subgroup, or am I missing something?

You're not missing anything, that's the way it works.

Well @Duane, that's nice and succinct. Thanks.
