Removing the email address from a post
Removing the email address from a post.
My members are on a very sensitive group of people who have been abused, and they don¡¯t want their emails showing up. I have the address guidelines on how to give yourself a nickname. But it doesn¡¯t seem to take away the email. Someone please tell me there is a way to do this. I¡¯m not sure how to find out if somebody responds. Could they please send something to Randi feedback@... |

I'm told that the idea is on Mark's Trello board...but for whatever reason it has not yet been implemented. I¡¯m not sure how to find out if somebody responds. Could they please send something to Randi feedback@...GMF is a peer-to-peer forum, not a private help line. Responses are generally made to the group so that others may benefit. You need to come back here to check for responses, or change your message delivery setting to something besides "No Email." Bruce |

Removing the email address from a post.First, you are "no mail" so you'll have to revisit this group for any answers. Second, if you haven't, you should disable Directory for the group members. "Member directory is disabled." In Privacy,?Hide Email Addresses In Archives - choose mask. In Message Policies, have the settings as reply to group. Below that, click to disable other replies if you don't want someone to reply to group members directly. And as you mentioned, in Account (top right corner) they can change their display name. It may be that you can't guarantee privacy. However if your group's archive is private (just group members only) you can't change it back to be public. That might give the group members some confidence. Also if you are accepting new members, you can create a pending subscription notice to ask for some info about them. Removing the email address from a post.It occurred to me that you could also have subgroups and invite (direct add) only a subset of your members. You can even set a subgroup so it doesn't show in your parent group (ie, in the menu on the left side of the screen). /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Subgroups /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Why-use-a-Subgroup Frances ? -- Moving to Groups.io (without easy transfer)
