¿ªÔÆÌåÓýOn Premium groups, the owner or authorized moderators can change the display name of the member?for just?that group, and it doesn't change it for any other group. Of course the member can do this as well. I don't know if that resets if a member later changes their own display name in their personal settings.

Changes made to your account profile will automatically apply to each group profile, with the exception of those specific fields in each group profile that you've previously customized. After looking at the text above, it doesn't clarify if the customization will be preserved whether it was customized by the member or by a mod, so I was curious and did a quick test, and if the mod changes someone's display name or other profile setting, any changes by the member on their root GIO profile will overwrite the group profile, but if it was changed by the member themselves, it will not be overwritten ...?I learned something new today! Is there a way to force a new user to where they're name into the Display Name section? No.? The site will use any name associated with the email address (as most people do) if it finds one.? If not, it will use the first part of the email address.? As an example, say a user sends email from John Smith <[email protected]>.? The site will initial use John Smith as the display name.? If that weren't included, it would use jsmith@.? Members can always change this later if they want, so it's not good to depend on it.
