Groups.io RSS Feed validation? #issue

Hello!

I'm hoping to use the RSS Feed from Groups.io to create updating content for a website still under construction.? However, the Groups.io feed doesn't validate.? I used both the homepage and the rss feed page for the parent group and all subgroups, and got the same results from two different online feed validators:

Is this a common problem that can be fixed, or am I just doing it wrong?

Any help appreciated,
Robert

No one ever responded to this, and I see this is still not working properly in Groups.io.

I prefer to receive group discussions via RSS feed rather than email, as the Thunderbird client handles both and RSS is much less disruptive to my day.?

However, Mozilla won't validate the feed from my group.? I'm using (http://[groupname].groups.io/g/[subgroup]/rss) as a url, which looks like a valid RSS feed to this human, but it fails Thunderbird's validation, as well as those of the two links provided by the original poster above.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks...
Howard

Howard -- Look at the subgroup's home page. Does a Feed link appear there, under "Group Information?"

If not, it's probably because your message archive is private. RSS feeds will not validate for private groups, as this would provide a "back door" for those with bad intentions to gain access into your otherwise-hidden messages.

P.S. It is not possible to make a private [sub]group public again.?

Hmmm... Yes, it is a private group.? So then it would seem to be a bug here either way, in that I am allowed to view the rss feed in a web browser even though I am not properly authenticated.

That said, even a "public" group like which is viewable in a web browser also fails formatting tests at both and
