Max size of file to upload
We uploaded one file sized at 376 MB a few weeks ago. Now trying to upload a 257MB file and the site is sending a message saying that the file is too large.
I am Premium member and have not reached even 20% of the 10GB total storage. Question: is there a max individual file size allowable? what is it?? Why would the system allow a 376MB file but not a 257MB file? Thanks Fernando |

But I will venture to guess that you got timed out, which has been reported to happen occasionally. It seems to depend on server load and the speed of your internet connection. Question: is there a max individual file size allowable? what is it?? Why would the system allow a 376MB file but not a 257MB file?I'm not aware of any fixed limitation. I will say that groups.io isn't really designed for cloud storage or streaming audio/video. My suggestion is to upload the file to a Google Drive or some such and share it via a link. Good luck, Bruce |
Bruce: thanks for your input. Fernando |

The precise wording on the message we received from the site was:?"file too large, was not uploaded"I agree. I've never seen that message before. What you usually get is the "maintenance" message that Duane mentioned. As for why it didn't appear with the larger file...again, I'm stumped.? We will try using a better connection. I am still puzzled to find out if there is a file size limitation. Please come back here and report whatever you find out. Bruce |
