I have a couple of groups, each with >50,000 messages, which were transferred to for both groups.

In one case, messages posted to the new Groups.io continued the numbering sequence carried over from Yahoo. eg: 50001; 50002; 50003;......
In the other case, message sequence from Yahoo ended and messages posted to the new Groups.io started anew from 1. eg: 49998; 49999; 50000; 1; 2; 3;.....

Does anyone understand this?

Interesting.

I'm going to guess that those low message numbers were posted to the Groups.io group before the transfer got to stage 4. Otherwise, I think you may want to report this to [email protected] because the message numbering should only increase as messages are posted or imported.
