photos and albums

Debra Claffey

Hi all,

Could I get some help on deleting photos and albums? Do I really have to do it a photo at a time? Also I can't see how to delete a whole album. Will greatly appreciate your help!

You can currently only delete photos one at a time, but there's a bulk delete function on the to-do list at the Trello page (where Mark keeps track of things to fix or improve.) To delete an entire album, go to the album and there will be a Delete Album button at the top.

hi duane
got a problem with the photos in my groups
now for some reason i got a storage limit warning today and i went to my groups to see what the problem was and ive found out that for some reason every photo have been duplicated so thats the reason for the warning i got but i need to delete the duplicates and having to do this 1 at a time is gonna take years.
problem 2 the warning states that if i don't get this problem sorted out by 1st aug the first photos will get deleted.
i really need help with this as i don't want to loose any of my photos because of a self duplicating problem with the website.
so either we need a bulk delete a.s.a.p before aug 1st or a bulk download option so i can change the photo albums or more time than just 6 days to sort out over 3000 photos

I suggest writing to [email protected] to see if they can systematically remove the duplicates. And figure out why that happened.

You can only delete individual photos or entire albums.

may I select more than one and delete the selected photos ?
That is not an available feature.

Things have changed since 2018 when I said use?the "blue Delete Album button above the pictures.".
Now, it's?
Open the album you¡¯re interested in, and click on the red Delete Album button above the pictures. You can also click on the blue Edit Album button above the pictures, and then click on the red Delete button at the bottom of the next page.

As far as I know there is no way to select and delete more than one picture at a time.

You know, I was thinking about your issue with wanting to delete a lot of photos.??
?
1) unfortunately you can only delete one at a time but if they were all in the same album, you could delete the album and get rid of all of them at the same time.
?
2) Now, with that thought, I've never moved photos from one album to another without downloading and uploading but I think in groups.io you can do that without bringing it down to your computer first.
?
3) If that's the case, then you might - just might be able to move more than one at a time (if you can I don't know what the limit is on the amount you can move at one time).
?
4)? If you can do all of the above, you can create an album, move the group of them into the album, move more, and more, and more until you have a lot of those you want to delete in there.? Then delete the album and repeat the process.
?
5)? That would be much easier to do than the one-at-a-time routine.
?
Comments from others on what's possible in groups.io for this?? Can you move more than one photo at a time from one album to another?? If this can work, does anyone see an easier way?
?
Sincerely,

It should be, provided you're not referring to the Emailed Photos album.? That is separate and 'normal' photo control, such as moving, doesn't apply.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

No.

Moving photos is actually harder than deleting them, inasmuch as it requires the extra step of selecting a destination folder.
