What are the email addresses I should use?
I am not necessarily going to be the person in charge of the io group, but I am the one that started one. Our Yahoo group sent a monthly information message and I was planning to copy that, though our policies might change since the person in charge of my Yahoo group is leaving for health reasons. Obviously the following information will change.
To post a message to the whole group, email to: Beautiful-Instrumentals@... To unsubscribe or leave the group, email to: Beautiful-Instrumentals-unsubscribe@... To subscribe to the group, email to: Beautiful-Instrumentals-subscribe@... To contact the Listowner, email to: Beautiful-Instrumentals-owner@... |
Email addresses are on your group home page.
GMF - are? Group Email Addresses
There is also a help email - but it just sends back some potted help.? If you have a main group plus subgroups -?

Yout post does not make it obvious. If the information stays the same then it can be set up as a Monthly Message and it will be sent automatically. Chris |

I think the monthly message was the same very month, and I assume it will be that way on groups.io.Unless it is edited between times then that is correct. Reading between the lines what you intend is that there should be a message sent every month with new material in it set up and sent by the new owner. Looking at the sample list of standard per group email addresses above (see Frances's post) which address do you think is the correct one? If it helps, cross - reference with your expiring Yahoo list of equivalents for a clue. Chris |
Well, there doesn't need to be ONE correct one. The person will probably want to include them all.

OK; you envisage a monthly message but of a type not covered by the standard Monthly Message facilty offered by Groups.io, but I cannot tie this in with the original title that you gave to this thread, i.e. What are the email addresses I should use? Perhaps someone else might be able to work it out. Chris |
Are you talking about a monthly reminder of the group guidelines? This is sent by the calendar and is one of the Member Notices. The owner/moderator writes it.

Description:

This is your monthly subscription reminder for the Group Managers Forum. We are glad you joined our group.

Our GMF Group's web resources are open and public. Our Messages archives and Wiki are viewable and searchable by non-members. GMF message archives are indexed by major search engines. Unfortunately, due to Groups.io restrictions, you must be a member of GMF and logged in to access our Files and Photos sections.
?
We expect members to post and act responsibly. Please respect your fellow members' time and attention: strive to be clear, concise and courteous. Our subject matter naturally includes matters of opinion; if you happen to disagree with another member please do so without being rude. Personal attacks are not allowed. Solicitations are off topic and will be deleted without comment. Listing your groups in your signature is perfectly acceptable, but just make sure there's also on-topic content in your post.
?
Attachments are allowed and the judicious use of screen shots and other illustrations is encouraged!
?
All messages sent to GMF are moderated. This is done to avoid malicious attachments, spam, off-topic messages, and messages from spoofed or compromised mail accounts. Despite these measures, be aware that the bad guys are clever so there's no guarantee that we'll always succeed; you are encouraged to be vigilant against any and all threats arriving via email. Your GMF moderators make no guarantees regarding the safety of emails arriving from this or any other Groups.io address.
?
We are always looking for suggestions from our members to make this group better for all. Feel free to address any questions, comments, or concerns directly to the group moderators via email to [email protected].

Your group email addresses are on your group homepage.
If you are looking for the correct email address to put on your YahooGroup to tell them where to post - it is this one:?

Thank you for that. I meant that the group owner might decide to keep the same policies from the Yahoo group, which might be more strict than those listed above. So if there is a standard message, those details might be added to that. Or we might send two monthly messages, one like the one above and one with our specific policies. I haven't heard back from the group owner, but when I was the only one willing to take over, the responsibility became mine. Now I believe the group owner will find someone else and that will be a big relief.

There is no standard message that is sent out monthly. That is up to each group to set up.
Edit your Monthly Reminder notice in Member Notices. Your group guidelines also goes on your home page left side - just below Home.
