Ripped off or not downunder
Chris Pearce
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all, ? I have read Bruce¡¯s excellent steps ? ? I have followed the instructions more than 5 times, paid the fee $110 before the new price rise Made the transferio a moderator Click on the transfer etc. Our new Groupsio name appears in the drop down list. I click the proceed. Etc ? So after 3 days of waiting and 623+ emails on this subject I have had to weed through since coming back online my group is still not started and the transfer crap is blank. ? Yes some groups seem to be getting through but I feel that our group has been ripped off!? As we are over in Australia there seems to be a problem with GroupsIO doing what it says it should. ? Feeling totally peeved off with the whole thing. ? Has anyone in Australia in the last week been able to get their group transferred as I would like to give someone a phone call to check what I have done is correct. ? Chris VNSC moderator ? ? ? |

Frustrating, I know. I assume you have looked at the status of the transfer? 11. How do I check the transfer status?

Transfers are queued up when you first set it up and processed in that order until you get to Step 5.?
?
At that point they are re-ordered based on when the transfer go-ahead is given and uploaded to groups.io in that order (unless you pay $200 for priority service).
?
When you click on the green "Set Up New Transfer" button at bottom left of the Yahoo groups transfer page (/yahootransfer), a new page will come up where you can enter the source and destination group names.?
?
There is also a series of checkboxes for the various areas of the group to transfer (files, photos, members, messages, etc). Simply uncheck the ones you don't want before clicking the "Start New Transfer Process" button.
?
If you've already started a transfer, return to the Yahoo groups transfer page (/yahootransfer), select the transfer you've already started from the "Existing Transfers" list (pull down the menu and click on its name). On the resulting page you will see the same series of checkboxes. Uncheck the ones you don't want and then click the "Update Transfer" button. Actual transfer status for any ongoing transfer can be found in the status box at the top of the page.

Also Mark in Beta wrote: If you have started a Yahoo Group transfer, and the status is the message that starts "Make sure you have sent an invite to your group", that means that we have not received your invite yet and that you should send another one. That message will change automatically when we receive the invite and is not subject to the delays in other parts of the process are seeing.

I'm in USA and about the same situation.? One of my groups made it to "Step 3 of 4" but in ~2 days we've gone from #326 in the wait queue to #311 in the queue.? Two of my groups have been stuck at "Step 1 of 4" for about 3 days (like yours).? I think this is just going to take a long time.? Good luck to all...

There was a message from Mark that he would refund to anyone not happy. No one is trying to rip off and Mark is working hard to keep up with the onslaught of requests to move groups from Y!G to GIO. It is taking time no matter where you are in the universe. Keep patient and the move will take place.
