No longer moderator or owner #addmembers

I think I created this problem, here are the steps I took.

1.? I created a group.
2.? I uploaded a list of members to invite.? I failed to remove my email address from that list.
3.? I was sent an invitation to the group.?
4.? I clicked on the link to accept the invitation on the website.
5.? I am no longer Owner of the group.

What can I do to get this corrected?

A bit more information please...

  • When you say you created a Group was this in relation to a planned migration from a Yahoo group or was it done just to create a new group?
  • Were you already a Groups.io Account holder or did you set up an account as part of setting up a new group?
  • Was the email address you used as the one to set up the new group the same as that to which you inadvertently sent an invitation?
  • What "evidence" is there that you are no longer the owner of the new group?
  • Before sending out the invitations to join had any other person joined (for example at your request) and been made a moderator or co - owner?
It may be that there is nothing you can do directly to remedy the situation; the only indirect route will be to email [email protected] to explain the situation and ask if someone there can make the necessary changes to restore your ownership.?

That shouldn't matter. If an email address is already subscribed to the group, that invitation won't be sent.?

I just tried it, and here's what I got:

"The following email addresses had errors:

  • myemail(at)domain.net: Already subscribed"

3.? I was sent an invitation to the group.?
4.? I clicked on the link to accept the invitation on the website.
5.? I am no longer Owner of the group.
My guess...you actually have two email addresses, and an invitation for the non-owner address got sent out. When you subsequently clicked on the link, that logged you out from the owner address and logged you in under the new subscriber address. Therefore you can no longer access your Admin functions.

See?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Group-Content-Is-Missing?for details, third section.

The solution is to log out of groups.io and log back in with the address that actually owns the group. When logged in correctly, you'll see a baby-blue "Owner" tag on the Home button at upper left.

Hope this helps,
Bruce
