If you have none in process, it can only be because you didn't start one properly. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/message/19673?for detailed instructions. Sounds like you need to resume at #7 on that list. Inviting the transfer agent is step 3...and you haven't completed step 2 yet. The transfer agent will not accept an invitation if you don't have a transfer pending. Regards, Bruce ? |
开云体育I’m pretty sure I did that, but I just did it again. Should I send another invite? ? Linda Jones ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]>

Go back to?/yahootransfer, pull down the Existing Transfers menu and make sure something is there. If something is, then you can proceed to go to your Yahoo Group and invite the transfer agent again. If there still isn't anything there, you need to click on "Set Up New Transfer" again, and be sure to put JUST THE GROUP NAMES in the two boxes (leave off all the @domain stuff). I admit that I'm just taking a guess at the problem, but you wouldn't be the first person who tried to do this by putting email addresses in those boxes instead of the group names. Good luck, Bruce |

Linda, Don't know if this will help, but did you click on the arrow on the right edge of the empty "Existing Transfers" box?? The list of groups with transfer requests will show in a drop-down list.? I was unclear on that at first.? I can then click on the group name, and it takes me to the transfer setup page for that group.? It's at the top of that setup page that the message tells me if my invite has been received and/or accepted.? Dotty ? |
Mine worked but here is what I did “Groups.io Transfer <[email protected]>” Obviously you use only the text inside the quotes. It did not work until I added the first and last name to the invite.

开云体育Now it shows up! Hooray. I did another invite, including a name ? Groups.io Transfer <[email protected]> ? I hope that works. ? Linda Jones ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]>

Linda J,
You sent the invite. Did the status on the screen change to 'we've received the invite, when respond to it and become a member, make it a moderator' or words to that effect. Due to the workload, and this is a manual step for groups.io, I've seen it go from 1-12 hours to over a day lately. If you don't see the "we received the invite", which I think is automated like I saw it within an hour or so, then suspect a typo on the invite. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.org www.syracusemodelrr.org |
I have paid the fees, invited transfer to my list, and received a message that popped up on my list here on io groups that my list is ready to go but transfer has not joined my list yet so I cannot make him a moderator. It has been 4-5 days now. Susan You sent the invite. You are not the only one completely frustrated with lack of progress on a transfer.

I am trying to do a second transfer for the Yahoo photos only. I have followed all the steps in the instructions including making "transfer.io" a moderator in Yahoo. I have deleted the notice to a previous completed transfer. When I try my latest transfer NOTHING! No advice of any type is received. Linda J and other,
I think one of the problems people may be having is with the terms. In step 2, you start the transfer process. This tells groups.io that you are wanting to do a transfer. Then you do the invite from Yahoo Groups. Then they join the group on Yahoo. You promote them to moderator. The next step is 'Begin' the transfer itself. It is the terms, it sounds like the concept of start or begin are used twice in the sequence. The first time you are 'starting the transfer process' but the second time, step 6, you 'starting the transfer'. Subtle difference, but I think many users are hanging up on the steps. -Ken Cameron, Member JMRI Dev Team www.jmri.org www.fingerlakeslivesteamers.org www.cnymod.org www.syracusemodelrr.org |
I initiated 4 group transfers last night after I saw that the price would be changing today (it would be so helpful if there was a non-profit rate beyond the enterprise account, which I still don’t understand the difference).? I did not get a message that the invite was received nor did I receive receipts for the 4 charges.? I have done this before so I am fairly certain I did this correctly. That said, if the easy group transfer page shows that I do have 4 groups pending, how can I confirm the invites were received from yahoogroups since there is never anything at yahoogroups stating that the invitations were sent/received?
And, sorry to ask again but I cannot find the email that answered this, may I just move messages and not the members? Thanks, Margery |

Thanks. I get it now! We need to be patient because there must be a huge list of sites waiting to transfer. There is actually quite a bit of time left for all of this. One thing I understand from the pricing change notice is that groups.io will endeavor to grab all of our content before Yahoo deletes it. There is time after that to import that data into groups.io. Status messages are very helpful.
