How To Make i.o. Cover Photo Banner Sized
I apologize if this has already been answered, but I searched GMF for "cover photo"? and this particular question didn't come up in the search results. I know how to change the cover photo in i.o., but not how to make it appear as a banner. In YG it automatically was formatted as a banner. I looked in "Help" but couldn't find how to make it a banner, only how to change the photo. What is the trick?

What is the trick? The cover photo is rescaled to 300 pixels in the vertical dimension, or 900 pixels in the horizontal dimension. So if you want the image to span the width of the page you must provide an image with at least a 3:1 aspect ratio. Hope this helps, Bruce |

Deborah,
results. I know how to change the cover photo in i.o., but not how toAs Bruce said, you need to use an image with a 3:1 aspect ratio. You'll need some type of photo editing software to crop a source image down to that shape. Or a drawing program to create something that shape. 开云体育The banner size space is 900x300. Experiment uploading different size pictures to see what they look like, but if you want a full size banner it needs to be 900x300. ? Don ? Hi
I found simple instructions on this page - if you are using a Mac and don't have special image software. I used the technique using Preview. Saved the photo on my computer and then uploaded it. Worked beautifully. Frances -- /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki /static/help More help: use the search button at the top of the Messages list. |

I tried with a 422x317.? It was reduced to 399x300 and centered in the area.? Still not a banner, but looks good. Hi again,
Using Preview may distort your image. However it may not matter. I just tried with a photo with a group of people and that DOESN'T work well if you try to force it to 900 x 300. Keeping the Scale Proportionally box ticked worked better. ?I got a better photo but not a real banner photo. It is workable though.? Deborah, ? Take a look at what I do with the banner on FOGgers /g/foggers . I use a free program called IrfanView to manipulate the pictures and create our banner. You’ll have to take some a little time to learn how the program works, but I think helps me a lot. ? Don ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Deborah Cohen

Success. I found a photo with an already relatively narrow subject and then cropped it to be as short vertically and wide horizontally as possible. When I made it my cover photo it worked out perfectly as a banner:? /g/EvanstonPFWatch. Of course, that's not to say that a photo I may want to use in the future will be likewise workable. Many thanks. -- deborah (::waves to Francis::) -- Deborah |
