.MOV File Storage

开云体育

I had a member send an email with three files as attachments to the group, which is fine since we accept attachments. One file was a 3.97 MB .jpg, one was a 836 KB ,jpg, and one was a 7.92 MB .mov file. The two ,jpg files are in Emailed Photos, but I can’t find any sign of the .mov file except in the email with the other two .jpg files. When I go to Billing/View Attachments, I can see that 13 MB (3 attachments) were uploaded. Where would this .mov file be stored if I wanted to delete it?

?

Don -- To delete a non-photo attachment, you have to edit the corresponding message in the message archive. More details at?/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Deleting%20attachments,%20files%20and%20photos

Bruce,

I see how to delete the attachments via the message now, thanks. Back to part of my original question though…Do you know where this .mov file be stored if not in the Emailed Photos album?

Yes... it will be in the Emailed Photos Album along with everything else sent as an attachment, but because it is not in a standard photo format (e.g. jpg) it will not appear in the list of emailed photos and does not add to the "count" of photos, but does add to the count of MB stored and is included in the total of MB filled by attachments shown on the front page of the Photo Section.

The only way of finding it is via the the message to which it was originally attached (in which it will appear as a thumbnail) and the only way of getting rid of it is to delete that message.

Chris.

Under Edit Message I can see the images, and below the images a small sample of the images with a Delete box that can be checked. If I check the Delete box for this .mov file and select the red delete button will that be enough for deleting the .mov file? Or do I need to delete the whole message that includes all the images?

Yes, that's the way to delete individual attachments.

Don -- The wiki link that I provided is accurate, and I suggest you proceed according to those instructions, to wit:? Under Edit Message, tick the checkbox next to any attachments that you want to delete, and then click the blue "Save Without Sending to Group" button.

If you click the red Delete button you will delete the entire message. If (per your original post) you want to keep the JPGs, that isn't the best course of action.
