explaining PSP/tube

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Several people were very recently wondering what a tube in the PSP world is and I thought that I would explain.?
PSP = Paint Shop Pro = the "amateur" (much more affordable) programme similar to Photoshop.
?
A tube is an image stripped of background.? I have attached the images of a photo I took, the tube I made and how I just quickly created a different background to show how people may "play around" to create something new.
So a tube is an image that was either stripped of its original background or art that never had a background to start with and it?always has a transparent background.
?
When I got involved in the PSP community in 2004 nobody cared about copyright.? Over the years artists have come to realize that they might miss out on income possibilities.? While some very popular living artists still do allow their art to be used for free (FTU = free to use), a growing list has become PTU (pay to use).? If they are contracted to a licencing company, one is only allowed to use an image one bought (and everybody who uses the image needs to pay for it) and gets a licence number.? There are Terms of Use for FTU and PTU images how their art can and can not be used and what information has to be next to the image etc etc.
?
Saying all that, the vast majority of people in the PSP community still seem to think that it is ok to share anything and everything and and totally ignore any Terms of Use or whether an artist is FTU, PTU or absolutely does not allow any art to be used.
?
And since artists have a right to make a living with their work like all other working people and illegal sharing is done on a massive scale through groups, it is totally understandable in my opinion that attempts are made to close these groups down.
?
This is what I do: .
And before you have a go at doing "stupid things" - I am visually impaired, working on the computer gives me opportunities I don't have away from it. Many of the people I know in the PSP world are disabled or restricted by health issues and are spending a lot of time alone at home.

I would never purposely post anything that is PTU. If I see PTU or do not share, I delete immediately even though it's been around the internet for weeks or years by the time it gets to me.

I have had groups for over 20 years. I get no financial gain from any of them. I just share to help those who love to create tags.

I am 68 and am disabled as well. I would never want to take away anyone's income.

Good luck in all you do.

Best regards,
Karen Rodriguez
