30-day send me a link to login fails to keep me on logged in

I've been a matter of moderator an owner of many groups for over 6 years I've continually used the send me a link to login and been so active that it would keep me locked in almost permanently
I've been away for a little while due to illness well more than a little while it's almost 2 months but now what I ask for a link to log in and it gives it to me it works fine but what I stop using my browser for a session and try to almost immediately go back to groups.io via my browser it drops me I have to ask to send me a link again or reuse that link I am not kept plugged in permanently or for 30 days as we always were what's going on can somebody clue me in
Bob remember since 2016 manager owner of at least five groups

I've just tried this and it works fine for me. I can close and re-open my browser and pick up where I left off on the Groups.io site without a problem.? I can only assume that you have something clearing your login cookie, either a browser setting or perhaps a private browser window perhaps?

Andy

No, I know I'm running standard Chrome up to date on my android phone cause when I.m on my laptop, I don't have the problem.
in fact I can go on my laptop right after cause I'm still logged in there.
Possibly can only be logged into one system

I don't think that's the case. I am logged in on my laptop, the mobile app and another browser on a tablet all at the same time.

Bob, so you have no problem on your laptop. You do have a problem when you use your android phone.

The help says:
?
The login cookie expires in 30 days, but each visit to a group website extends the 30-day timeout period.
If you delete your browser cookies (or your security software deletes them), you will be logged out.
If your browser is set to delete cookies on exit, you will be logged out.
If your browser is set to Private Browsing, you must log in again.
?
Could you describe what happens when you use your phone? Ignore your laptop since you said it works fine there.
You also said that you are using standard Chrome on your phone.

Frances?

Bob -- I'm inclined to agree with Andy that the login cookie is being deleted between sessions.?

See??for instructions from Google with respect to how to change your cookie settings.

It's actually quite common for browser cookie settings to have a different default on a handheld device (phone or tablet). This keeps other people from gaining access to your accounts if you should lose it...with the understanding that desktop computers aren't so prone to being misplaced.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Thanks everyone it probably is the login cookies I haven't no only updated my Google Chrome but it might have happened and I have rebooted my system a couple of times on the phone when I get a chance I'll look at it right now I have to put up with it because I've been horizontal for the last 2 months and just kind of a user of systems rather than a mover and shaker again thank you
