I would like to create some basic help pages for my group. Is it OK to use the more basic info in the GMF Wiki as a starting point? If yes, is there a way to copy over multiple pages at once, or is it only doable a page at a time?

Yes.

Note that GMF's Wiki is open to the public. For information that you don't need to customize you may wish to link to GMF's page instead of copying it - that way you and your group members will have the benefit of any later improvements.

And speaking of improvements, if you can improve upon any of GMF's pages please do so.

Not that I know of.
